I FEEL MORE CONFIDENT WHENEVER I SPEAK IN FRONT OF A GROUP AT WORK
I always wanted to become a confident public speaker but I did not know what to do for that. When my friend Yu told me about this club, I thought that was the ideal place to practice my skills.
As I practice speeches and different meeting roles, I feel more confident whenever I speak in front of a group at work and I became more proactive to give my opinion. I have gained more leadership skills too.
What I appreciate most is that UTTC is an incredibly warm community of passionate and friendly people who want to grow and learn from one another.

I COME TO A JOYFUL PROACTIVE INSTRUCTOR AFTER PASSING THROUGH THE JOURNEY OF TOASTMASTERS ACTIVITIES.
I wanted to become a confident instructor but I always felt nervous during class. What the paths given me was to leave or to hold the job. I chose to hold it and decided to change myself through Toastmasters practical experiences.
Although I live in Japan apart from most of the members in Canada, I feel connected to them who are always care about me, answer my questions quickly and encourage me.
Weekly meetings make me feel close to the members. I have been learning not only communication and leadership skills but also time management and flexible deeds.

My job requires me to regularly do public presentations at meetings and events. I have always done ‘well enough’ but really wanted to take it to the next level. This is why I joined Toastmasters. My first experience at Unicorn Tribe was a memorable one. I felt welcomed and included…..very important for someone to feel when entering a new environment. What I love about this club is that there is no “me”. Members constantly contribute to one another’s success. As a result, I get as excited about my growth as I do about my fellow members’ growth. I wanted to practice public speaking because I was not confident enough to speak in front of people. I also wanted to build up my communication and leadership skills.
I started to build up my confidence level. I was able to practice in many roles at Toastmaster, and each role will bring different output and growth point that also apply to my skill at workplace.
The mentorship is very special to me. Mentors are always there to help you that you will never feel you are alone. Toastmaster club is an ego-free zone that people here are always very supportive that make me feel very comfortable to communicate.

JOINING TOASTMASTERS HAS HELPED ME TO LEARN HOW TO ADVOCATE FOR MYSELF AND TO FIND MY INNER VOICE.
I was desperately in need of a safe place to improve my communication skills.
After joining Toastmasters, not only did my English skills improve, so did my overall communication skills. I learned the importance of cultural and emotional intelligence and how to be a more considerate person when communicating with others. I learned how to be more assertive.
I have found that UTTC is a safe place to practice communication and leadership building skills. There is a sense of family and belonging and for me this is very important.
I struggled for years wanting to be a better communicator and to find a safe place to grow personally and professionally. Toastmasters, and specifically UTTC, has become that “safe growing place”. Weekly, we celebrate each other's growth. It has worked for me and it could work for you.

I CHERISH THE UTTC BECAUSE THIS CLUB HAS INFECTIOUS POSITIVITY, THE FRIENDLIEST FACES, AND ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH.
I joined Toastmasters because I lacked confidence in my communication and speaking skills. I was shy, I often stumbled over my own words, and I was terrified of having all eyes on me! I had no idea how to approach this problem, but I came across a flyer for UTTC. After joining UTTC, my confidence has grown by leaps and bounds. I readily and excitedly approach challenges at work, and my personal relationships have also benefited from the communication skills I have learned.
